Road Reseal Program for 2023 underway in South Gippsland Shire
Preparation works for South Gippsland Shire Council's 2023 Road Reseal Program have commenced.
Forty-nine roads in towns across South Gippsland are scheduled to be resealed this financial year with work expected to be completed early 2023. Before resealing can occur each of these roads need to be inspected for defects and then patched. This helps to ensure the reseal will last for as long as possible.

Improving road conditions
Heavy rains last year caused damage to a number of council roads, which is why an extensive reseal of the program is now underway. The resealing provides a waterproof barrier that helps to protect the road for longer. More resealing work is scheduled to occur during the 2023/24 financial year.
Kerryn Ellis, CEO South Gippsland Shire Council said, "Over the coming months, council's Sealing team will be working on roads across South Gippsland. This is an important part of the work the council delivers to continuously improve road conditions and safety for our community, so it is terrific to see this work kicking off for the year."
"By necessity, road works do cause some delays. We ask that drivers please be patient with our crews, follow the directions provided and drive carefully at all times." Ms Ellis said.
