Community feedback wanted on Baw Baw Shire Council Economic Land Use Strategy by 16 April 2023
To support Baw Baw Shire's future economic and employment growth, council has developed the Draft Economic Land Use Strategy and is seeking feedback from community and businesses on the document.
Responding to Baw Baw's growing community, the Strategy has been drafted to ensure sufficient commercial land is allocated to meet enterprise, industry and resident needs as well as encouraging future investment to the region.
The Economic Land Use Strategy community consultation opportunity commences 6 March 2023 and closes on 16 April 2023, and includes two community drop in sessions
Community consultation
Developed in consultation with the community and industry groups, the Draft Strategy has been shaped with feedback submitted as part of the initial community consultation in May 2022 as well as input gathered from the Issues and Options Discussion Paper 2022.
Attend a session to learn more
Interested businesses and community members are invited to attend an in-person consultation session to raise questions and learn more about the Draft Strategy.

- West Gippsland Arts Centre, Fountain Room
- Session 1 - 2:00pm - 4:00pm
- Session 2 - 5.30pm to 7.30pm
Read the document and make a submission
Prior to making a submission, all community members are encouraged to:
- Read the draft documents
- Submissions can be made in writing via email to strategic.planning@bawbawshire.vic.gov.au
- Complete a short survey

Long term economic vision
Mayor Cr Annemarie McCabe said, "This key planning strategy details how land may be allocated and rezoned in the future to address both the challenges of population growth while supporting our key industries to flourish."
"I encourage community members and businesses to come along to the sessions and chat with our planning team to learn more about how this strategy will support our Shire's long term economic vision and strengthen future investment." Mayor McCabe said.
