New footpath for Toorak Road in Inverloch to be built $170,000 from Bass Coast Shire council 2022/23 Pathway Gaps Program
A new footpath will be constructed in Inverloch, along Toorak Road between Ullathornes Road and Cashin Street, in coming months.
Bass Coast Shire Council will start work on this project by mid-October, with completion expected by Christmas, subject to favourable weather, contractor and supplier availability. These $170,000 works are funded by council's 2022/23 Pathway Gaps Program. This new footpath is a continuation of recent footpath works along Cashin Street and Ullathornes Road and provide a safe pedestrian connection to the existing footpath network.
The new footpath for Toorak Road project represents an investment in upgrading our footpath network as part of council's Pathways GAPS Program improving access for the community
Project inclusions
The project will include construction of a 1.5-metre-wide concrete path, service adjustments for water, power and Telstra services, as well as alterations to stormwater where required. A small retaining wall will be built at the Ullathornes Road intersection and minor vegetation trimming and removal will be required as part of the construction.
These works will include the use of large plants and machinery and might be noisy at times. Council understands that these works may present an inconvenience to nearby residents and businesses and appreciates their patience. The contractor will make every effort to minimise disruptions during construction. Appropriate traffic and pedestrian control measures will be implemented onsite during these works.
