Collection bookings

Bookings are now open, closing on Friday 22 October at a cost of $67.20, with pensioners eligible for the discounted rate of $33.00. The additional collections will take place between Monday 8 November - Friday 22 November. After the booking is confirmed, residents can have up to two cubic metres of acceptable hard waste on their nature strip ready for collection. All items for collection must be out by Sunday 7 November, or additional costs may apply.

Accepted as hard waste

Bookings can be made through Council's Customer Service Centres or by calling Council on 1300 229 229. Payment is required at the time of booking. Acceptable hard waste includes, but is not limited to;

  • Furniture and household appliances
  • Electronic equipment such as TVs and DVDs
  • Mattresses and bed bases (maximum of two)
  • Washing machines, stoves and fridges with doors removed
  • Paint tins (empty with lids removed)
  • Scrap metal, car parts and lawn mowers

Please note, collections will only occur for households who have made a booking. Residents are advised not to put out their hard waste for pickup until after their booking has been placed. Households who do not receive Council's kerbside garbage services are eligible for a Transfer Stations Voucher which can be used to drop waste off directly at one of Council's four transfer stations in Lardner, Trafalgar, Erica and Neerim South.

Getting rid of your unwanted items

Mayor Cr Danny Goss said, "Spring is a great time to get rid of any unwanted household items that may be lying around at home. We encourage residents to use their annual free hard waste collection, but for those that have additional needs, we have made this extra service available for booking."
