Bairnsdale residential hotel gets construction approval from East Gippsland Shire Council
East Gippsland Shire Council has approved construction of a Quest residential hotel in Bairnsdale, on the site of a former trade supplies yard owned by Dahlsens.
The 30-room Quest residential hotel in Bairnsdale, sited at 19 Dalmahoy Street, will provide a range of accommodation options, with six of the rooms designed to allow for comfortable living for people with limited mobility. The architect-designed hotel will also offer business facilities including a conference room, business lounge and gym. Each of the rooms will feature a kitchen, weather-protected balcony, and sleeping and lounge areas.

Confidence in economic future
The development provides an increased variety of accommodation choice for visitors to East Gippsland and is supported by council's Bairnsdale Growth Strategy, which encourages intensification of development in the commercial centre and a greater level of activity.
"Bairnsdale and the surrounding region needs more accommodation options. The rental market is tight for those moving to the town or staying here for the duration of a project or contract, so this multi-million-dollar hotel will offer much-needed options as well as providing local jobs and giving a boost to local traders. This investment is a sign of the confidence in economic future of Bairnsdale and we are excited to see this development come to fruition." Cr Mark Reeves said.
The Dalmahoy Street site is located in the Bairnsdale Central Activity District, close to retail recreational facilities, entertainment venues, public medical and administrative services and professional services.
