Explore your backyard online this National Water Week with East Gippsland Water
Join us in an online learning festival to celebrate the national water week.
East Gippsland Water has teamed up with other water organisations from across Victoria and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, to provide fun online educational experiences for this year's National Water Week. Explore your Backyard is an online learning festival celebrating and nurturing our connection to Country and water during National Water Week, which takes place later in October.
To launch the online learning festival, on Sunday 17 October at 4pm, Costa the Garden Gnome and Coliban Water's Managing Director are sitting down for an afternoon chat!
Exploring the local nature
The event will be launched by gardening expert, Costa the Garden Gnome, with an exclusive Facebook live chat at 4pm on Sunday 17 October and then continue through to the 24 of October. East Gippsland Water's Manager of Customers, Mathew Scott, said, "Explore your Backyard will focus on water efficiency and exploring nature in our local area - whether that is a waterway, vegie patch or a garden."
"The activities and events have been designed to suit a range of ages, interests, topics and learning goals and can be accessed from the comfort of the home or classrooms. Most importantly, we hope participants have a bit of fun, learn something new and enjoy exploring their backyard." Mr Mathew Scott said.
This is the second-year running water organisations from across the state have teamed up to provide Victorians with virtual fun educational experiences for National Water Week. The festival will also feature live webinars, on-demand workshops, tours, videos and resources, all designed to get everyone outside and using water efficiently.
