Mallacoota Service Center Storytime returns to engage children and parents in crocodile-themed activities
Mallacoota Service Centre Storytime sessions made a successful return, drawing 16 children and seven parents for crocodile-themed activities, including storytelling and craft. Sessions cater to children aged 2 to 5.
Mallacoota Service Centre recently resumed its much-anticipated Storytime sessions, and it exceeded all expectations with a whopping 16 children and seven parents attending for a day of crocodile-themed books and activities, including a reading of Huw Lewis-Jones' book Croc O'Clock, a rendition of Never Smile at a Crocodile, and crocodile puppet-making class.

Storytime sessions
Storytime sessions are for children aged 2 to 5. The sessions run for 45 minutes and include stories, songs, dancing, poems and rhymes and craft activities.
- Encourages children to develop a love of reading, books and libraries at a young age
- Stimulates imagination, ideas and interests
- Teaches effective listening skills
- Helps develop pre-reading skills
- Introduces the library as a fun, inviting place to be for children and parents
- Promotes awareness of library resources
- Provides opportunities to socialise with other children and caregivers, and have fun
Storytime in Mallacoota runs every Thursday, 2.30pm-3.15pm. There's no need to book, simply turn up, but for more details, visit our Children and Teens page or call 5152 4225. Storytime takes a break in January - so be quick!
