Booked hard waste collection

Latrobe City Mayor Kellie O'Callaghan said that "This booked hard waste collection comes at a great time following a series of lockdowns as people may have accumulated some unwanted extras around the house".

Residents of Latrobe City receive coupons with their rates notices that permit up to a two cubic metre pile of acceptable items to be collected from their nature strip without any contact with the collection crew.

Acceptable items

Acceptable items include:

  • Couches, mattresses, tables and chairs
  • Dining tables, outdoor furniture, computer desks
  • Bedside tables, cane furniture and lamps
  • Exercise equipment, TV cabinets, coffee tables (glass removed)

Other acceptable items for booked waste are:

  • Rugs, tall boys, mats and cork tiles
  • Curtains, blinds and fittings
  • Luggage, toys, floating floors, vinyl
  • Carpets and underlay (maximum 30cm diameter x 1.5m long)

All residents must book via the Latrobe City Contact Centre by phoning 1300 367 700 or via the Latrobe City Facebook page using the hard waste coupons distributed through the property rates notices.

People living in rental properties must contact their landlord or real estate agent for coupons. Transfer stations continue to operate as per normal operating hours. Latrobe City Transfer Stations remain open for those without coupons or who have more than two cubic metres of acceptable items. Operating hours and a full list of non-acceptable collection items can also be found at 2022/23 Waste Calendar web page.
