Toorongo Falls

Just out of town is the stunning Toorongo & Amphitheatre Falls. Take a mossy, ferny walk through tranquil forest by the trickling (and sometimes gushing) river and take in two falls on the loop walk.

Get out the selfie stick with photo opportunities all along the river, with moss-covered rocks and tree ferns as the majestic background

Mushroom Rocks walk

Embark on a 3km (2 hour) return walk to Mushroom Rocks and see the impressive granite boulders amidst rugged alpine landscapes. The track gently climbs through cool temperate rainforest. Eyes peeled during spring and summer for gorgeous subalpine orchids. Once you arrive at the boulders, you get bonus points for letting out your inner child: climb, hide, chase and explore.

Mushroom Rocks is a collection of monumental granite boulders hidden in thick montane forest, only 3km to the rocks from the carpark, but it's a challenging walk
