Farm safety awareness
In 2022 alone, 55 people lost their lives in farming accidents across the country and of those, 40 percent involved either tractors or quad bikes. Member for Maranoa David Littleproud said the themes of this year's National Farm Safety Week are tractor and farm machinery safety. "Agriculture continues to be one of our nation's most important industries, but it also remains one of our most dangerous," Mr Littleproud said.
"Everyone deserves to go home at the end of the workday, especially our farmers who work so hard to produce our food and the materials that clothe us, so it is important we talk about safety every chance we get. Our farmers are the lifeblood of our country. Let's support them by taking part in National Farm Safety Week and thanking them for the work they do putting food on our table," he said.
