South Gippsland Council reviews priorities for 2024-2029 Plan based on widespread input from community feedback
Council gathered feedback from 688 residents across 17 townships to shape the 2024-2029 Plan, prioritizing community health, road safety, weed control, and advocacy. A draft plan will undergo further community consultation.
Thank you to everyone who provided feedback. Between late January and the end of February, 688 people provided feedback across 22 engagement events in 17 different townships. The most widely approved priority in the Community Vision was 'A Healthy Connected and Engaged Community' with 92 per cent of the community in support.

Shaping council priorities
Key themes identified within the Council Plan included, but were not limited to:
- Roads, including road safety, quality and maintenance
- Weeds, from increased weed control on council roads, to additional education
- Advocacy, seeking council's public support on a wide range of requests including volunteer support, public transport and more reliable electricity
Councillors will now consider the feedback as they work on creating the new 2024-2029 Council Plan, which will be released as a draft for further community engagement.
