Darren Chester first in Lakes Entrance free 5km parkrun and encourages more people to join in so it never happens again
The Lakes Entrance parkrun takes place every Saturday from 8am at the rotunda on the esplanade.
Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester was across the line first at Lakes Entrance parkrun on Saturday, and says it should never happen again."The volunteers do a great job every Saturday to put on a free, 5km timed event on the foreshore and the numbers have dropped back a little in recent weeks."

Mr Chester also said, "It's a fun event for runners and walkers of all ages. While it was exciting to finish first on the weekend, surely there should be a heap of younger and fitter runners ahead of me next time!"
