Lindenow South Primary School will remain open, with leadership support arranged and recruitment for a new principal underway
Lindenow South Primary School will remain open in Term 2, with interim leadership arranged and principal recruitment starting Term 3, following advocacy by Gippsland East MP Tim Bull and Ministerial support.
Lindenow South Primary School will remain open and not be closed at the start of term two as the community was advised last week. Gippsland East Nationals MP, Tim Bull, met with Deputy Premier and Education Minister, Ben Carroll, this morning and was given an undertaking the school will not be closed as was previously advised.
Lindenow South Primary saved from closure; interim leadership secured as community celebrates reversal of term two relocation
Mr Bull said, "While a new school leader will be recruited, in the interim, the principal of Lindenow Primary School will oversee both schools for the remainder of the year. Recruitment for a new leader at the school will commence in term three."
"The announcement that all students would have to relocate for the start of term two was to me, a gross over reaction and I was never happy every option had been looked at. The school and wider community will, I am sure, be delighted with this news and I thank the Minister for his quick response and willingness to resolve the matter," said Mr Bull.
