Discover Kilcunda's new wave with the fresh energy and cool vibes of the reimagined coastal gem
Kilcunda, once known for its beachy charm, is now revitalized with new businesses like The Sticks, KGS Kilcunda, and the reimagined Kilcunda Ocean View Hotel, offering fresh vibes, food, and views.
We've always loved Kilcunda for its chill beachside vibes, but with so many recent changes there's even more of Kilcunda to love. A new wave of businesses and management is breathing life into this hip seaside town. This coastal haven never fails to offer up dramatic coastline, windswept beaches and the nostalgic charm of the Kilcunda Trestle Bridge.
The walk winds through coastal gullies, a secluded beach, and cliffs, with whale sightings possible. End at Kilcunda's cafes
There's delightfully convenient access to the Bass Coast Rail Trail and George Bass Coastal Walk from the town centre, and the mouth of the Powlett River awaits an afternoon of riverside laziness. New businesses, renovations and rebranding has Kilcunda reimagined, drawing a new energy to the popular coastal town.
The Sticks
When you step into one of the six interconnected pods of The Sticks, you might be forgiven for thinking you're visiting the future. This enchanting architectural dreamscape of curved concrete, glass and light is home to must-visit retail spaces and food destinations.
The Sticks is a futuristic space with unique shops, including Udder & Hoe, By Georgia jewelry, Hair Vision, and Lucca Lucca gelato
Udder & Hoe has found its new home at The Sticks - this is the spot to buy both hyper-local and Italian-leaning produce, coffee and wine. Visit this uber-cool provider on select evenings for a drool worthy dinner. Hot tip: check out their Instagram for a calendar of upcoming events and special wine nights.
Also in residence is the jewellery store By Georgia, where you will find marine-inspired creations that will have you feeling like a 21st century mermaid. Or pop into Hair Vision by Holly to refresh your look and get a new coiffure. Visit during the summer and you can grab a fresh gelato from the ice cream pop-up Licca Lucca.
KGS Kilcunda combines cafe, post office, and general store with world-class coffee, fish and chips, and pantry essentials
KGS Kilcunda
The beloved General Store is now branded as KGS Kilcunda. This dreamy spot pulls triple duty as a cafe, post office and general store. Enjoy your cafe fare in the airy white brick space with retro fittings or generous leafy courtyard. Expect world-class coffee, classic fish and chips (on a Friday) and stock up on all your pantry essentials.
The newly managed Killy Pub offers ocean views, Cuban-inspired pub food, live music, cold beer, and a relaxed deck setting
Kilcunda Oceanview Hotel
The iconic Killy Pub is under new management - this local institution now boasts beautiful views of the sea from the newly landscaped garden. Dive into a menu of pub classics peppered with Central and South American flavours, care of their Cuban-hailing chef. Sit back and relax on the deck, sip a fresh beer and listen to some live music at this classic seaside pub.
