Moe Fire Brigade gets modernised with $2.3M funding from Victorian government

A new fire station has opened in the heart of Moe, providing a contemporary facility for the Country Fire Authority to continue their important work in the community for years to come. Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing officially opened the new station, thanking volunteers and welcoming them into their new headquarters. The Allan Labor government invested $2.3 million into the fire station, which features a modern turnout
room and change facilities for volunteers.

Newly funded by Allan Labor government, Moe's fire station equips 42 volunteers, upholding 90 years of crucial service

Upgrading the facility

The station has a large meeting room, with fresh office and kitchen facilities, a laundry and drying room, and a two-bay motor room that has enough space to house the brigade's tanker and pumper. The design of the expansive rear yard is suitable for the training of new and existing volunteers, with a threebay storage shed and a hose-drying tower to better maintain the brigade's equipment.

The brigade consists of 11 operational members, with a total membership of 42 volunteers who have responded to approximately 140 requests for assistance this year. The brigade has been servicing the local community for almost 90 years, and is located within District 27, forming part of the Merton Group.
