Mobile Service Centre is coming to South Gippsland and other council project updates

A mobile service centre will visit Mirboo North on 25 June, offering support and information on government services. Council also highlights upcoming events, workshops, planning updates, and community funding opportunities.

The mobile service centre is coming to South Gippsland! Save the date:

  • Date: Wednesday 25 June
  • Time: 9.30am to 4.00pm
  • Location: Opposite the Mirboo North Hall (Ridgway, Mirboo North)

Visit the mobile service centre to find out about Australian Government payments and services for rural families, older Australians, students, job seekers, people with disability, carers, farmers and self-employed people. Staff can provide you with information and support, including creating a myGov account.
MyGov is a simple and secure way to access government services online. For more information, visit Services Australia website.

No Filter: Real Stories

Council is supporting YLab in their search for young people across the region to launch 'No Filter: Real Stories'. This is a youth-designed and led campaign sharing real experiences and creative content to raise awareness about vaping harms.

If you're aged 16-25, living in Gippsland and willing to share your honest experiences with vaping, visit the link below to find out more. You don't need to have all the answers, just bring your real and honest perspective. For more information, visit Ylab website.

Leongatha Business Association Workshop

Join the Leongatha Business Association Winter Dinner, featuring guest speaker Kerryn Vaughan. Kerryn is a renowned speaker, author, facilitator and podcast host, known for her leadership facilitation and inspirational keynotes. The night will be an introduction to DISC - a four-quadrant model describing the different types of behaviours exhibited in the workplace.

Community Foundations Panel

Join South Gippsland Community Health Foundation for their upcoming 'Community Foundations Panel and Q&A'. This event is a chance to connect, share ideas, and explore how we can better work together to support the health and wellbeing of our region.

Gippsland Emergency Relief Fund - Resilience Pilot Project

The Gippsland Emergency Relief Fund (GERF), together with the experts at Resilient Building Council, are offering FREE workshops in South Gippsland to help homeowners prepare for bushfires and other natural disasters.

Want to understand your home's vulnerabilities? Learn practical ways to improve resilience? Highly regarded resilience experts are here to answer your questions. There are two South Gippsland workshops remaining to choose from:

  • Tuesday 22 July in Mirboo North
  • Tuesday 22 July in Leongatha

Kindergarten Registrations

First round registrations for three-year-old and four-year-old kindergarten close on Monday 30 June. To register, simply complete the online registration form and nominate your kindergarten preferences. Offers for this round will be released during the first week of August.

If you miss these dates, Round Two registrations open on Tuesday 1 July. To ensure an easy and fair process for all parents, Council operates as a central registration system on behalf of all participating kindergartens across South Gippsland.
