Latrobe City trials footpath decal direction people to taxi stand in Traralgon CBD until 30 December 2022
Latrobe City Council is currently trialling taxi decals in the Traralgon CBD to help visitors find transport home in the evenings.
The decals were installed after local taxi drivers and late-night venue operators reported an increase in visitors finding it challenging to locate taxi ranks. The decals feature positive messaging to 'take care of your mates' and aim to improve safety for those in the area. The trial will be in place until 30 December 2022, once reviewed the program will be extended to other areas including Moe and Morwell.

Expecting best results
Mayor of Latrobe City, Councillor Kellie O'Callaghan said it was important for visitors and locals to feel safe when experiencing Latrobe's nightlife and was looking forward to the results of the trial.
"Latrobe City has many late-night venues ready for our visitors and locals to enjoy, so it is important to ensure they can access safe taxi services home after enjoying their night out.
"Our taxi decals are currently on trial to see if they make a positive impact and help those who need assistance locating taxis and improve safety. We look forward to the results as we will then consider if the program should be extended to other locations across Latrobe," said the Mayor.
