Staff members Neil Hauxwell from the Community Access Centre, Business Consultant Ray Cox, Disability Officer Sue Lawrence, Bronwyn Lloyd from Business Studies, Ted Dunstan from Central Records, Art Department Coordinator Gary Dunbier, Student Liaison Officer Darren Teller, Rod Douglas from the Computer Centre, Mark Nestor, Rodney Burgess and Kevin Newey from the Construction and Safety Department, and Rachel Makowski from Reception shaved it all off or coloured their hair to raise money.

Hair shaving and colouring was provided by GippsTAFE’s Hair and Beauty Department at the Yallourn Campus.

The event took place at lunchtime in the new refurbished courtyard, with all the students encouraged to sponsor their teachers to shave or colour their hair.

A special thanks goes to KFC in Morwell, Morwell McDonalds and Century Inn for providing prizes on the day.

The World’s Greatest Shave for a Cure is the Leukaemia Foundation’s biggest annual fundraising event, where participants shave or colour their hair to raise funds for Leukaemia research and patient support.

Leukaemia can strike anyone, at any age, at any time. In the next five years over 30,000 Australians will be diagnosed with Leukaemia or a related blood disorder.
