Getting Into Business Workshops

Shire facilitates workshops for first time business people

The Baw Baw Shire Council, through the Victorian State Government is facilitating a number of workshops for people interested in buying a business or franchise or getting into a retail tenancy for the first time.

The workshops are funded by the Minister for Consumer Affairs from the Estate Agents’ Guarantee Fund.

Baw Baw Shire Council has secured three workshops from the "Under New Management" programme for people interested in buying a small business, buying a franchise or signing a retail lease. Each workshop cost $30.00 per person and run for about 3.5 hours. The workshops cover subjects ranging from business organisations and structures, sources and types of funding, marketing, budgeting, business planning, what is a franchise, evaluating franchise systems, retail tenancy, getting advice, conflict resolution, unconscionable conduct and important information sites. Light refreshments will be supplied.

The workshops will be run by an experienced workshop leader, participants will also receive a comprehensive workbook, referral contacts and a one-on-one business counselling session with an experienced business counsellor.

The workshops will be held at 1.00pm on the 4th March 2003 (Buying A Business), and 6.00pm 6th March 2003 (Buying A Franchise). Both workshops will be held in Warragul. Bookings are essential and further information on the workshops can be obtained from the Baw Baw Shire Council on 56242523.
