Slow Down On Ullathornes Road, Inverloch

Motorists along Ullathornes Road, Inverloch, will soon be taking things a bit more slowly

By Carol McCormack - 3rd February 2003 - Back to News

Motorists along Ullathornes Road, Inverloch, will soon be taking things a bit more slowly. Bass Coast Shire Council has successfully lobbied VicRoads to change the speed limit from 80km/h to 60km/h on the southern end of the road.

"The past year has seen some new homes built along Ullathornes Road," said Steve Piasente, Engineering Services Manager with Council. "That means there are now cars turning onto Ullathornes Road from driveways, so the lower speed limit will increase safety for all road users."

New signs will be erected in the next month. The new speed limits will come into effect once the signs have been erected.

Bass Coast Shire Council is the fastest growing regional Shire. This means that traffic patterns and road usage is changing in some residential areas. Residents who believe that the speed limit in their local area needs to be reviewed are encouraged to contact Council on 5671 2211 or 5951 3311.
