Draft Inverloch Framework On DisplayThe draft Inverloch Design Framework will be on exhibition from Monday 10 February until Friday 14 March 2003 By Carol McCormack - 3rd February 2003 - Back to News The draft Inverloch Design Framework will be on exhibition from Monday 10 February until Friday 14 March 2003. Public comment about the draft framework is invited.
The draft framework establishes a vision for the future of Inverloch and the outline for achieving that vision. It looks at land use and the issues facing the future development of Inverloch. The draft framework outlines a series of future development directions and guidelines to achieve both the vision and respond to the issues.
Sue Porter, Project Officer with Council, said that more than 450 people had already had input into developing the draft framework through workshops, surveys and questionnaires and a community convention. However, there is plenty of scope for more people to get involved she said.
"Have a look at the draft framework and provide us with feedback," said Sue. "When you do, it is important to recognise that this is a draft report only and has not been finalised."
Sue said that the framework would undergo further analysis following an assessment of all submissions received from members of the community.
Every submission would be considered by the Project Steering Committee before finalising the final framework in early May 2003. The closing date for submissions is Friday 14 March 2003.
"This is your opportunity to have your say and to shape the future of the Inverloch township and surrounds, please make sure you get involved," said Sue.
Members of the public are invited to attend either of two presentations by the about the draft framework. The presentations will take place on Thursday 20 February, 7pm-9pm, and Saturday 22 February, noon-2pm. Both presentations will take place at the Inverloch Community Centre. People who are planning to attend must RSVP to Council on 5671 2211.
The draft Inverloch Design Framework will be on display at Council’s Inverloch and Wonthaggi Customer Service Centres. For more information about the Inverloch Design Framework, contact Sue Porter, Project Officer, on 5671 2211 or 5951 3311 or email s.porter@basscoast.vic.gov.au
