Gippsland › Latest news › GippsTAFEGippsTAFE Training and Assessment Students Graduate![]() GippsTAFE celebrate graduation GippsTAFE students complete Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training Two groups of GippsTAFE students have recently completed a Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training. The course is designed for those who provide training, staff development, assessing and instruction as part of their job. The groups commenced the course in March and concluded with a debrief evening during the month. GippsTAFE CEO Jeff Gunningham congratulated the course facilitators and spoke to the groups on their course debrief evening about learning and the importance of the VET sector. Coordinator of the Centre for Business Studies and Information Technology, Sandra Nestor, spoke to the groups about VET pathways and congratulated the groups on their successful completion of the course. "There was a wide industry base represented in the groups, with the facilitators, Janet Needham and Kerry Swenson, having a reputation for excellence in this field," said Ms Nestor. "Many of the students will now go on to the Diploma of Training and Assessment." The Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training enables participants to develop training knowledge, skills and attitudes that they require to work competently as workplace trainers in whatever subject they are training or wish to be trained. Topics covered in the course include plan assessment, conduct assessment, review assessment, train small groups, plan and promote a training program, plan a series of training sessions, deliver training sessions and review training.
