Fashion Award Winner from GippsTAFE

Alana Morgan has won the Tertiary Student Award and Lincraft Encouragement Award

GippsTAFE Fashion student Alana Morgan has won the Tertiary Student Award and Lincraft Encouragement Award at the recent Gippsland Wool and Fibre Awards.

The awards provide new opportunities to communicate and provide incentives for students and community members to meet the needs of the market place, particularly in the design and technology areas.

The winners of the awards were announced at the Gippsland Wool and Fibre Awards Gala Presentation Dinner Dance, which was held in Bairnsdale.

The awards aim to promote "Wool and Fibre" with an emphasis on design. The awards evening included a parade of all the garments which were judged by a professional panel.

All the garments entered in the Gippsland Wool and Fibre Awards were displayed, and paraded at the annual Bairnsdale Field Days at the Bairnsdale Aerodrome.

Ms Morgan is currently undertaking a Diploma of Textiles, Clothing and Footwear at GippsTAFE’s Morwell Campus, which covers topics such as production development, production, engineering and maintenance, quality, management, human resources, sales and marketing, warehousing and distribution, purchasing, administration and finance.
