Gippsland Portal Local News: Beneficial Program For Female Cancer PatientsLook good, feel better... By Emma Kae - 28th May 2002 - Back to News Tell us your opinion See what others have said When fighting for survival becomes your first priority, looking like a star can take a back seat in your life. Still, the old catchphrase "if you look good, you feel good" comes to mind, and one may wonder if feeling good about yourself could make the fight an easier burden to bear.
A special seminar – the Look Good, Feel Better program – is coming to Gippsland to test the theory and help local cancer patients to restore self confidence in their appearance.
Sponsored by the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association, the workshop is designed to teach women new grooming and makeup techniques to make them feel beautiful once more.
Field experts offer professional advice for women suffering the after effects of chemotherapy and radiation treatment, while the seminar also provides a support opportunity for women to meet other patients in the area.
The workshop will be held at the Central Gippsland Health Centre lecture hall (Palmerston St,Sale) from 9:30 am on Wednesday May 29. Registration is essential, so call Linda on 5143 8735.
