"Celebrate & Participate" an exhibition that showcases the work of local volunteers will be on display in Rhyll on Monday, 13 May and Tuesday, 14 May 2002.
The display can be seen on both days between 10 am and 2 pm at the Rhyll Mechanics Hall in Lock Road. Morning tea will be served at 10.30 am on both days.
Volunteers from more than 45 local organisations are showcased in the photographic exhibition.
The exhibition has been organised by Bass Coast Shire Council using State Government funding.
Josie Kent, curator of the exhibition, said that she has been extremely excited to work on a project that celebrates the wonderful effort of volunteers in the Shire.
"Having worked with volunteers, and being one myself, I know the valuable effort and rewards that come from this participation," said Josie.
"Celebrate & Participate" was first displayed in the Cowes Cultural Centre in April. At its launch, volunteers were delighted by the display, by the recognition of their efforts, and by the opportunity to meet and swap stories with volunteers from other groups from around the Shire.
"Celebrate & Participate" will be travelling throughout the Shire at various venues for the rest of 2002. Dates and venues will be advertised, and more details are available from all of Council’s Customer Service Centres.
