Statement on VLine CEO James Pinder
VLine CEO James Pinder has been suspended today.
The Andrews Labor Government has confirmed VLine CEO James Pinder has been suspended today as a result of an anti-corruption investigation by the Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission (IBAC).
Former Public Transport Minister Jacinta Allan announced Mr Pinder’s appointment in October 2016.
While it is inappropriate to comment on the ongoing IBAC investigation, this is not the first time under Labor that VLine has been investigated by the anti-corruption watchdog.
In 2017, IBAC found serious problems with VLine’s recruitment and procurement practices and instances where conflicts of interest were not declared.
Another day, another investigation under the Andrews Government that distracts from the desperate need to fix the mess Labor’s made of country Victoria’s public transport network.
