One Gippsland has welcomed Danny O'Brien's election as the new leader of the Victorian Nationals and praised Peter Walsh for his decade-long leadership and positive contributions to regional Victoria and Gippsland.
One Gippsland has welcomed the election of Gippsland South MP Danny O'Brien as the new leader of the Victorian Nationals. One Gippsland Chair and Wellington Shire Mayor Scott Rossetti also paid tribute to Peter Walsh, who yesterday stood down from the role after 10 years as leader.

Gippsland leadership acknowledged
Cr Rossetti said, "One Gippsland has enjoyed a productive relationship with both Mr Walsh and Mr O'Brien as we've worked to secure more government investment for priority projects across Gippsland."
"Mr Walsh has had a long and successful career in public life and has worked hard to make a positive contribution to the lives of people across regional Victoria, including here in Gippsland," Cr Rossetti said. "We wish him well."
"Mr O'Brien is a born-and-bred Gippslander. He knows Gippsland as well as any of us and we're looking forward to continuing to work with him as the Member for Gippsland South and now also as the leader of the Victorian Nationals," Cr Rossetti concluded.
