The Pop-Up Playgroup is designed for children aged 0 to 5 years. Parents and caregivers must actively supervise their children during the events

Pop-up session

This year's theme is 'Children have the right to a clean and safe environment' and is based on Article 24 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). This theme celebrates the right of children to enjoy childhood and highlights the importance of every child's right to have a clean and safe environment. It also celebrates the:

  • Talents
  • Skills and achievements of children
  • Their right to connect with others and respectfully share their views

To celebrate Children's Week, Baw Baw Shire Council will be hosting a free Pop-up Playgroup.

  • When: 10am on Thursday 24 October 2024
  • Where: Civic Park, Warragul
  • Cost: Free

Don't forget to bring some snacks, water and sunscreen if the weather is warm. This is a great opportunity for children and their families to engage the senses, capture the imagination, and encourage creative expression.

Playground sessions scheduled

The session will include a range of activities sure to keep children with different interests entertained including music, sensory and physical play, and face painting. It will be a fantastic opportunity for parents to meet other local families and learn about council's playgroup services and how they can benefit children and families.

There are six other Pop-up Playground sessions scheduled for the remainder of the year in Drouin, Warragul, Trafalgar and Longwarry. Families unable to attend this special Children's Week session are encouraged to join in one or more of the other sessions on offer across the Shire.

For more information and dates for all sessions, go to Pop-up Playgroup. Children's Week is a wonderful opportunity for local families to connect and enjoy a fun and educational experience for free. This event is supported by Baw Baw Shire Council and the Department of Education.
