Christmas Lights Fairies On The Prowl

Looking for creative Christmas messages with lights

By Carol McCormack - 11th December 2002 - Back to News

The Christmas fairies are out and about next week, searching for the best Christmas lights in Bass Coast. More than 20 home and businesses have registered to be part of Bass Coast Shire Council’s Christmas lights competition.

"We’ll be cruising around the Shire next Wednesday and Thursday," said one of the fairies. "We’ll be looking for those property owners who have used creativity to get across their Christmas message by decorating their house with lights."

The winner of the Christmas lights competition will be awarded $500 of vouchers to local stores to help them stock up for their festivities.

"If you’re one of the people who’ve entered the competition make sure you have your lights on during Wednesday and Thursday nights next week," said the fairy. "It’s going to be so much fun to see how people are lighting up Bass Coast!"

The fairies agreed that one of last year’s most memorable houses included Santa cooking a BBQ on the garage roof.
