Geoff Hilton Farewelled

A special presentation was made to Geoff Hilton, Member for Western Port Province, at the Council meeting this week.

Mr Hilton has decided not to contest the November election and will be retiring from politics.

Bass Coast Mayor, Cr Neville Goodwin said Mr Hilton had been a wonderful representative for Western Port.

"Council has had a very good relationship with Geoff during his time as the Member for Western Port," said Cr Goodwin.

"It’s been a real pleasure to work with him and it is certainly sad to see him go."

Cr Goodwin said that whoever followed in Mr Hilton’s footsteps after the November election would have a big job.

"Geoff has certainly raised the bar," said Cr Goodwin.
