Financial accounting for the Ball is complete so Bass Coast Mayor, Cr Veronica Dowman, presented the proceeds to the Bass Coast Community Foundation Chairman, Alan Brown, at their meeting on Friday, 17 February 2012.

Cr Dowman said she was proud that the Ball raised a record $30,000 in support of the Bass Coast Community Foundation.

"When you add this $30,000 to the total amount raised for the Foundation in the past eight years, the Charity Ball has made a total contribution of $120,000.

"The success of the Mayoral Charity Ball relies on the support of our community and generosity of our corporate sponsors and I am overwhelmed and grateful for their support," Cr Dowman said.

The 2011 Mayoral Charity Ball had several levels of sponsorship. Platinum sponsor: Aquasure, Gold sponsors: Tabro, Retravision, Workplace Training Advisory Australia, McArthur, Thiess, Southcoast First National Real Estate and Parklands Wonthaggi. Silver sponsors: Coldon Homes. Bronze: Wonthaggi Recyclers, Beveridge Williams, Phillip Island Nature Parks and Wonthaggi Fabrics and Beads. Support Sponsors: The Wonthaggi Club, TS Constructions, Phillip Island RSL, Stockdale and Leggo, Westpac. In-kind Sponsors: Phillip Island Printers, COAST Magazine, DAS Constructions and AFI Branding Solutions.

Bass Coast Community Foundation Chairman, Alan Brown, said the $30,000 from the Mayoral Ball was a stellar outcome which exceeded everyone's expectation.

"The money the Foundation receives each year from the proceeds of the Mayoral Ball has underwritten much of the Foundation’s success over the past eight years. We would not have achieved anywhere near as much in addressing areas of disadvantage in Bass Coast had it not been for the fantastic support given by Council and the people who attend the Ball each year," Mr Brown said.

"We are most grateful to the Mayor and Councillors for their ongoing support which is vital to the success of the Foundation.I also acknowledge the numerous sponsors who supported the Ball in record numbers last year, and the volunteers who donate their time to ensure the Ball is run for a minimal cost," said Mr Brown.
