Over 200 career teachers from across Victoria will be arriving at the Gippsland Campus for the Biennial Career Education Association of Victoria conference (CEAV) from Sunday, December 4 until Tuesday, December 6. The conference, held in the Gippsland region for the first time is titled ‘Careers at the Coal Face’. The teachers will stay on campus and attend seminars and workshops relating to career advice. Outside of the classroom the teachers will take part in local tours of the region.

Registration opens today for the Gippsland Inventors Competition sponsored by GREEN Inc, Monash University and Farm World. The competition will run in conjunction with the Farm World theme ‘Innovation in Agriculture’ and offers over $10,000 in prizes. Categories includes Invention of the Year, Best Agricultural Invention, Best Regional Invention (non agricultural) and Best Developed Idea. Registrations close on Friday, March 3. Students and staff of the Gippsland Education Precinct will receive their Identification cards on Wednesday 30 November. The first cohort of Year 11 and Year 12 students will be starting at the Precinct in early 2006.
