Boat Licensing Tests at GippsTAFE!For the first time ever GippsTAFE’s Leongatha Campus is offering VicRoads accredited Boat Licensing Tests. By GippsTAFE - 13th November 2003 - Back to News As of February this year all operators of powerboats and personal watercraft, such as jet-ski’s, have been required to have a boat licence. That is, any person who operates a recreational vessel equipped with an engine that is used, or capable of being used, for propulsion.
Gippstafe, Leongatha are currently undertaking a feasibility study at the Campus to assist in defining future program options and directions for the Campus. This new course is being offered as part of what might potentially be a broader program of boating and marine orientated training to meet the changing needs of the South Gippsland community.
The course is being offered in conjunction with Marine Training Services and is approved by the Marine Safety Board. Successful completion of the one night course at GippsTAFE’s Leongatha Campus means there is no need to sit the VicRoads test..
GippsTAFE will be conducting Boat Licensing on Wednesday 26 November and Wednesday 3 December 2003, commencing at 6.00pm.
The cost of the test is $65, including manual and $10 for PWC (jet-ski) endorsement.
For bookings please contact GippsTAFE’s Leongatha Campus, Nerrena Rd Leongatha on (03) 5662 3595.
