The project, designed to strengthen the links between young people and the community through access to more community activities, is moving to its next stage of development. The new logo will be used to provide a "face" to the group of young people involved in Streets of Harmony as they work towards establishing and managing a youth centre for the Shire. "When Streets of Harmony was launched, it was decided that what was really needed was a readily identifiable logo and slogan to help spread the message that this is a project involving young people for young people," said Wellington Shire’s Youth Development Officer Jodie Pullman. "We invited anyone between the age of 12-24 to submit designs and ideas for a logo and slogan, with the promise of a $100 gift voucher for the designer of the selected entry." The simple and effective design with the slogan "Look around – Not down!" selected by the judges was a joint effort by friends Evie Henderson and Chani Borett Gamblin, who will share the voucher. It will be used on T-shirts, letterheads, posters etc to promote the project and the team working to achieve better facilities for young people in the Shire. "Streets of Harmony has carried out a comprehensive survey of all youth facilities and services across the Shire and pinpointed the areas where more help is needed," said Jodie. "So far, the group has done a great job in identifying youth issues and aspirations across the Shire. The project is now moving on to assist young people to achieve that aim."
