Reverend Lyn Porritt, started on February 2, as Chaplain to Monash University Gippsland Campus. Lyn was ordained as Anglican Deacon on January 24 and has come to Gippsland from NSW Central Coast where she worked as a psychologist, Associate Professor in the School of Nursing at the University of Newcastle and as a Registered Nurse. Lyn intends to be available to students and staff of all faiths and intends to build a strong relationship with local community members to develop a mentoring support system for students who have come to the campus from around Australia and the world.

First year students who have recently enrolled at Monash Gippsland are invited to attend a transition program at the Gippsland Campus on Sunday, February 29 from 3pm-5pm in room 4N120. The information session has been designed to provide a snapshot of the first-year experience to prepare students for the commencement of their university studies. There will be a chance for informal discussion and questions and answers following a formal presentation.

• Making the Grade

Over the past two weeks students from Sale College, Lowanna Secondary College, Moe, Traralgon Secondary College and Flinders Community Christian College have been on campus at various times taking part in Year 12 Orientation Programs. These programs are designed to get students ready for the year ahead with workshops on time management, achieving the right mix of work and pleasure time, motivational speakers and getting students to start thinking about their career choices which will need to be made at the end of the year.
