Year 10 and 11 students interested in being part of the Gippsland Education Precinct in 2004 are invited to a course information evening to be held at Monash University Gippsland Campus on Tuesday, July 22 at 7pm in the Faculty of Business and Economics (room 5N104).

‘Back to the Future’ is the title of the latest exhibition to open at the Switchback Gallery on Monday, July 28. The official opening is on Tuesday evening, July 29 at 5.30pm. The title of the exhibition reflects the artists close association with the Gippsland Centre for Art and Design as staff or visiting artists during the early to mid eighties (Jon Campbell, Tim Jones, Stewart MacFarlane, Linda Marrinon, Vivienne Shark LeWitt). ‘Back to the Future’ is curated by Karen Hall and presented by the Monash Museum of Art.

‘Open Day’ the annual big day for Monash University Gippsland Campus will be held on August 2 from 10am to 4pm. Monash Open Day provides prospective students and their families the opportunity to visit the campus and hear about courses, career options, study and social life from students, staff and industry representatives. To get the most out of the Open Day visit the official website for the days program at www.monash.edu.au/openday.

Making the Grade
Ten Monash University Scholarships will be offered next year to students who achieve the highest scores in their Year 12 studies. The scholarships will cover their HECS debt and provide an extra $6000 each year up to a maximum of five years, allowing students to study any undergraduate course they are accepted into at any of Monash’s six Australian Campuses. Scholarships will be offered to students in December, before the change of preference period begins.

Gippsland Campus was represented at the St Pauls Grammar school camp at Phillip Island last weekend. The year 10 students were given advice on subject choices for tertiary study and an overview of what it is like to be a student at the Gippsland Campus.

Open subject
David Osborne from VTAC will be speaking to approximately 40 career teachers from Gippsland Secondary Schools on Tuesday, July 22 at the Gippsland Campus. Information on VET in schools, confirmation of VTAC procedures, new courses, irregular offers are among the topics to be discussed.
