Last Chance To Nominate For 2008! Time is running out to nominate for the Wellington Shire Council’s 2008 Australia Day Awards. By Wellington Shire Council - 26th November 2007 - Back to News "There is only one week left to nominate someone you know who has made a difference to Wellington" said Cr Beth Ripper, Mayor of Wellington Shire Council.
"The awards recognise individuals and groups who are great ambassadors and champions for their communities"
There are four categories –Australia Day Citizen Award, Australia Day Young Citizen Award, Community Event of the Year and the Community Group of the Year.
All awards recognise the individuals or groups who have made a significant contribution to their community.
"This is a great way to recognise those that help make Wellington a great place to live and let them know that their efforts are greatly appreciated."
The awards will be presented on Australia Day, January 26, 2008.
Nomination forms are available from Wellington Shire Council Service Centres and Libraries, the Wellington Shire Council website, www.wellington.vic.gov.au or by telephoning 1300 366 244.
