Bass Coast Shire Mayor, Cr Neville Goodwin said the night was a wonderful, local fundraising success.
"All the money raised at the ball goes to the Bass Coast Community Foundation," explained Cr Goodwin.
"This is a philanthropic trust, established by local people solely to help the Bass Coast community."
Cr Goodwin thanked the Bass Coast residents, community groups and business people who came along to enjoy the evening.
"This was the best ever Mayoral Ball and it wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the community and business throughout the Shire," said Cr Goodwin.
"It made me very humble to think that this community once again provided the resources that contributed to a truly unforgettable evening."
"A special thanks to those businesses that supported this year’s Ball who are neither residents nor ratepayers."
Over 180 guests were entertained by local roving performers from Dance Design Ballet School, Wonthaggi. A highlight of the evening was the famous Sergei, formerly of the Moscow Circus, who mesmerised guests with a balancing act. Guests danced the night way to the marvellous big band, Bandera.
As part of the fund raising activities, guests were offered the chance to win over $13,000 in prizes, kindly donated by local and non-local businesses.
