Council’s Movember effort grows

Positive response to Movember

By Portal Admin - 18th December 2017 - Back to News

Latrobe City Council staff members taking part in Movember celebrated the end of the month with a Great Shave-Off at the Morwell HQ and raised a mammoth $6818.

Latrobe City Council’s chief executive officer, Gary Van Driel, said the organisation’s team’s efforts had surpassed expectations.

"Twenty staff members took part in Movember and encouraged colleagues to donate. This really has been a demonstration of giving an already worthy fundraising cause a sense of community.

"Our organisation and our staff place great value on charitable causes and it’s been wonderful to see the great generosity Movember has inspired – both in monetary terms and in spirit," Mr Van Driel said.

"And whilst Movember is predominantly a male-focused fundraising campaign, our female staff members supported their male colleagues by committing to measuring the number of kilometres they moved over the month," Mr Van Driel concluded.
