Rising star violinist to perform at free concert Brilliant young violinist, Sally Cooper will perform with Orchestra Victoria as the guest soloist in their free concert at Kernot Hall, Morwell on Friday 17 October. By Latrobe City Council - 7th October 2003 - Back to News Latrobe City’s Manager Arts, Paul Holton said that Sally Cooper was one of Australia’s most exciting young violinists.
"She will delight audiences with her playing and passion which complements the romantic theme of the concert," Mr Holton said.
Managing Director of Orchestra Victoria, Peter Garnick said that at the age of nine, Sally Cooper made her debut as a soloist with the Queensland Youth Symphony Orchestra where she played the Saint-Saëns Violin Concerto in B minor conducted by John Curro.
"Sally has gone on to perform many concertos as soloist with most of the finest orchestras in Australia, including the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and the West Australian Youth Orchestra. Since 2001, Sally Cooper has been a full scholarship holder at the Australian National Academy of Music," Mr Garnick concluded.
The Orchestra Victoria Orchestra Concert will be held on Friday 17 October at 7pm, Kernot Hall, Morwell. Bookings are essential, please telephone 1300 367 700 for reservations.
