Wairewa Public Hall and Reserve gets $14,509 funding upgrades from federal Build Drought Resilience program
Two organisations in East Gippsland will benefit from funding as part of the Future Drought Fund's Networks to Build Drought Resilience program.
Local MP Darren Chester said Wairewa Public Hall and Recreation Reserve and Gippsland Agricultural Group both received funding for local projects. "East Gippsland communities were severely impacted by drought and bushfires and as the region recovers it is important that they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to better prepare and deal with drought," Mr Chester said.

Mr Chester also said, "Wairewa Public Hall and Recreation Reserve received $14,509 to improve the hall facilities including an upgraded kitchen, new cabinetry and flooring. These upgrades will improve the accessibility and usability of the hall and provide the community with a functional meeting space."
"Gippsland Agricultural Group will deliver two Farmers Field Days and install an ablution block to improve the facility. These sessions will help to educate participants on risks posed by drought and changing climate, while the installation of the ablution block will improve the useability of the site for different purposes and events."
