The magic of Fred Astaire swings by the Performing Arts CentreIf you enjoy the music and dance of a bygone era, then you’ll love A Fine Romance: The Magic of Fred Astaire playing at the Latrobe Performing Arts Centre on Wednesday 1 March from 11am. By Portal Admin - 22nd February 2017 - Back to News Latrobe City Council’s performing arts and venues coordinator, Kathleen Roberts, said the show featured all the glitz and glamour from the heyday of the great movie musicals.
"This show encapsulates the very heart of Hollywood in the 1940s and 50s - the memorable songs, the wonderful dance routines, the glamourous costumes, the romance and the feeling that life is a ball!
"You’ll relive magical songs like The Way You Look Tonight, They Can’t Take That Away From Me, Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off, Cheek to Cheek, Puttin on the Ritz, Top Hat, That’s Entertainment, S’Wonderful, Night and Day. It’s so good that you’ll want to get up and dance!" Ms Roberts said.
