Monash University Gippsland Campus was again rated Victoria’s top regional campus by the 2004 Good Universities Guide. Gippsland Campus received a five star rating in graduate employment, graduate starting salaries, prestige and total graduate outcomes.

• Making the Grade

‘Open Day’ was a great success with several thousand prospective students and their families visiting the campus to find out what the Gippsland Campus had to offer. Highlights of the day included the launch of the new Civil and Environmental Engineering degree, the first showing by the Gippsland Education Precinct at the event, and the interactive displays throughout all eight university faculties.

Dr Carol Adams, Head, School of Business & Economics at Monash Gippsland was a guest speaker at the ARIMA (Risk Management Association) Victoria State Conference held at the Park Hyatt, Melbourne last week. Dr Adams spoke on the reasons for the increasing focus on corporate social responsibility and transparency with respect to ethical, social and environmental activities and impacts.

Building the Calculating Farmer is the title of the next Humanities, Communications and Social Sciences Research Forum on Thursday, August 14 at 1pm in the Link Room at Monash University Gippsland Campus. Mr Vaughan Higgins and Mr Simon Kitto will discuss the role of computer software in farm planning.

Monash University Gippsland Campus, along with Monash International, has welcomed 41 international students who will begin their tertiary education this semester. The students are from various countries including Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Fiji, Japan, Malaysia, South Africa, Seychelles, and United Arab Emirates.

The Jazz and Popular Music Ensemble which is made up of Monash University students will perform an entertaining concert of jazz and popular music at the free lunchtime concert at Monash University Gippsland Campus Hexagon on Monday, August 11 at 1.10pm.
