A ghost of the past hits the big time

The Grand Silent System (TGSS) first came to life in early 1999 in the form of a local garage band exploring the creation of music that is meaningful, intelligent and emotional. Today, TGSS have progressed to become one of the most sought after bands in Melbourne, supporting great headlining acts such as Something for Kate, Grinspoon and the John Butler Trio.

The release of TGSS’ debut recording ‘They Who Built’ proved the growing interest in the six-piece, shown at the CD launch in St. Kilda’s Esplanade Hotel. The night was a huge success, selling out the 450 capacity venue and turning away 100 more disappointed punters.

It was not long before the band, determined to move continuously onward and upward, made their world-wide debut online with TheGrandSilentSystem.com. The website has proved to be a great way for the band to connect with fans, industry members and the plain curious, in addiction to opening more doors for future work.

The website offers information about the band and its members, news, tour dates, a shopping section and request links: helping the band get its music – namely the single "Robotics" - to the world over the radio (Triple J) and on the small screen (Channel [V], Rage).
