As it turned out her death was actually the result of a severe asthma attack. Because nine hours had passed between when the boy ate the peanut butter and when he kissed his girlfriend, the Coroner found that the kiss and the girl’s death were unrelated. He used new research to support his verdict. US researchers got volunteers to eat two tablespoons of peanut butter on a sandwich, and saliva samples were collected at various time points afterwards. They found that after one hour peanut allergen was undetectable in 87% of participants. For the remaining participants, the maximum amount detected after one hour was one hundred times below the lowest dose reported to cause an allergic reaction. None had detectable levels four hours later. It is not uncommon, however, for someone with a peanut allergy to suffer an allergic reaction after sharing utensils with or kissing someone who’s just eaten peanuts, the reaction can be severe. Its important if you have an allergy to peanuts you’re aware of the risks. (from Choice, Australian Consumer’s Association) Theft From A Car:Theft from motor car is a purely opportunistic offence.
