By now, all grass, weeds and undergrowth should be maintained at a height of less than 7.5cm (3 inches), overhanging trees lopped back and your gutters cleared of leaves to minimize the risk of a tragedy. Fire brigades are run by volunteers, so let’s make their lives easier by doing the right thing. Council officers organised a very successful celebratory event for International Day of People with a Disability at Coal Creek on December 3 to highlight ways of making our community more accessible and inclusive. Booklets providing information about public transport services in Gippsland and a display of accessible vehicles promoted the theme of accessible transport. Celebrations were also held for International Volunteers Day to say thank you to those special people in our community who give of their time and skills. Our community is healthier and happier because of your diverse and caring support. Plans are in hand to officially launch S.G. SPLASH, our Regional Leisure Centre in Leongatha on This project is coming to realisation through the combined commitment of Council and community, the winning formula for advancing our region.
