Bass Coast Chief Executive Officer, Allan Bawden and Mayor, "It is very important to recognise the contribution these staff have made to the organisation over many years," said Mr Bawden. "They are dedicated to their work and have an incredible knowledge of the Formal presentations were made on the day to: Hilton Chadwick - Emergency Management Officer 15 Years Teresa Piasente - Home Carer 20 Years Geoff Sawyer - Development Engineer 30 Years Jenny Churchill - Arts & Leisure Coordinator 30 Years A number of other staff were acknowledged for their long service, but were unable to attend the presentation: Paul Burns - Gardener 15 Years Steven Piasente - Infrastructure Director 15 Years Barry Davidson - Roads Team Member 15 Years Charmaine Blackwell - IT Officer 25 Years CHIEF EXECUTIVE CONTRACT RENEWED Bass Coast Shire Council has offered Chief Executive Officer, Allan Bawden, a further three year contract. Bass Coast Mayor, "We thoroughly reviewed the future needs to the Shire when we made this decision," said Cr Goodwin. " "This unanimous decision of the Council reflects the positive relationship that has developed between the Councillors and the CEO." Cr Goodwin said the Council would complete the statutory process to formalise the appointment over the coming weeks. "Along with my fellow Councillors, I look forward to working with Allan over the next three years." COUNCIL SUPPORT RELAY FOR LIFE The Bass Coast Relay for Life will be held at the Cowes Football Oval. The Relay starts at 12 noon on Saturday 10 November and goes through until 12 noon on Sunday. Relay For Life is an overnight team event that raises money for cancer research, education and patient support programs. The teams of 10 - 15 people have to complete a relay-style walk or run at the Cowes Oval, keeping their baton moving for 24 hours. There will be on site camping available, as well as entertainment and spot prizes! Bass Coast Staff team leader, "It is a really fun event and a great way to raise money for a very worthwhile cause," said Mr Wynen. "If you aren’t able to take part, you might want to sponsor one of the local teams, which you can do through the Relay For Life website."
