Bass Coast Shire Council Mayor, Cr Neville Goodwin, and Mornington Peninsula Shire Mayor, Cr Reade Smith, and other members of the Stony Point to Cowes Car Ferry Service working party, today met to continue discussions regarding a car ferry service between the two Shires.

Cr Smith and working party members from the Mornington Peninsula arrived on a barge at the Cowes Jetty this morning, to trial the route from Stony Point to Cowes.

Cr Goodwin said that the working party meets every four weeks, to map out the issues and possible ways forward, to facilitate the introduction of a car ferry service.

"As we move forward we intend to have an extensive community consultation program so that the community will have the opportunity to have input into this important project," he said.
