Information evening on business compliance workshopAn information evening for small to medium sized businesses on a two-day business compliance workshop being presented in September, will be held at 6pm next Tuesday 12 August in the Function Room at the Latrobe City Traralgon office. By Latrobe City Council - 7th August 2003 - Back to News Invest Latrobe investment manager, Leo Billington, said the business compliance workshop will be aimed at business owners, managers and company secretaries who are directly responsible for clearly understanding personal liabilities and key issues in company compliance.
"Tuesday’s information evening will be delivered by Mr Mike O’Shea, principle consultant from Intergrated Management Solutions, who will also present the workshops. The information evening is an opportunity for small to medium sized businesses to find out about the topics being covered and the reasons why they should be a participant, before committing themselves to the two-day workshop," Mr Billington explained.
"The two full-day classroom style workshop will be delivered on Tuesday 2 September and Wednesday 3 September in the Council Chamber Traralgon. It will be followed by one-on-one site counselling sessions for up to ten participating businesses," Mr Billington explained.
"The workshop will undertake a full review of structural business issues, compliance issues, insurable risk management and taxation risk management.
"Participating businesses will have a greater understanding of their liabilities as business owners, managers and directors. They will be able to identify potential risks and use key documentation to manage both risk and governance issues," Mr Billington added.
The business compliance workshop is being funded through a $15,000 grant recently announced by the Minister for Small Business, Marsha Thomson under the State Government’s ‘Grow Your Business’ program.
Ms Thomson said the grant reflected the Bracks Government’s focus on helping businesses throughout Victoria to maximise growth and competitiveness.
Initial enquiries about the information evening and workshop can be made to Leo Billington at Latrobe City, telephone 1300 367 700.
