Conceptual Approaches To Fashion Design At The GalleryYou may think you have walked into a boutique fashion store when you see the new exhibition ‘How You Make It’ at Latrobe Regional Gallery. By Latrobe City - 29th September 2008 - Back to News Latrobe Regional Gallery’s senior curator, Bryony Nainby said that the exhibition, currently featuring at the gallery, contains a range of garments and designs. "This exhibition looks at the approach of designers towards garment construction as an idea, while exploring the evolution of artisan fashion design practices," Ms Nainby said.
"The exhibition focuses on the making of a garment, and the experimentation which results in new approaches to fashion design.
"Coordinating Curator of Craft Victoria, Nella Themelios will be presenting a talk at the Latrobe Regional Gallery on Thursday 16 October at 4.30pm. Ms Themelios will discuss a range of conceptual approaches to fashion design which were used for this exhibition," Ms Nainby added.
‘How You Make It’ will be open until Sunday 2 November 2008.
Latrobe Regional Gallery is located at 138 Commercial Road, Morwell, and is open Monday to Friday 10am-5pm, and on weekends 11am–4pm. The gallery is closed public holidays. Entry is free.
